We have been involved in horology, i.e., the Study of Time, for the past 30 plus years. Yes, we even have are own scientific name for ourselves, and if you are as interested in antique clocks as I am, you too are a horologist.

It all started as a hobby back then because I needed to get my mind off of work. I have always had an interest in history, antiques and mechanical things, and one day while I was inside an Antique Store, I saw an 1880's antique clock on the shelf and I started wondering about the people who had owned that clock. How did they live, where did they live, what did they do for a living. I wondered about their kids and their friends and families, and what life must have been like for them in 1880.

I can still remember the first time my parents brought home our first color television set and how exciting that was. Yes, from black and white to color, what a marvelous invention. And in 1880, the clock I was staring at in the Antique Store, probably had the same effect on that family as the color TV had on mine. What a great invention this clock was. In 1880, money was just as hard to come by as it is today, and to take away money needed for food, clothes and lodging was a true investment in the future.

So that is how my the interest in antique clocks began. From there, I got my hands on every clock repair book and manuel I could find. Every tape and CD which would increase my knowledge was purchased. I then started taking apart simple "time only" clocks and eventually progressed to triple train chiming clocks.

I have now completed repairs of 100's of clocks. Some very old, and others not so old. Some only give the time, others play soothing melodies, and all of them have a story to tell if we will just listen.
